The frozen lumpia is rolled up with raw meat. Always make sure you are cooking it to an internal temperature of 165° F.
Recommended: Deep Fryer
Deep frying lumpia is the quickest and easiest method. Pre heat fryer to 350°F and cook until golden brown and the inside temperature reads 165° F. Usually takes around 5 minutes.
Shallow Pan Frying
This is the traditional way lumpia is usually cooked. The main advantage is you use much less oil than deep frying. Otherwise, it is more labor intensive and takes much more time. Since the lumpia may not be fully submerged in the oil, you must frequently turn the lumpia over until the wrapper is firm. This is critical if you do not want the lumpia to develop holes in the wrapper. Pre-heat oil at a medium temperature. Do not overcrowd the pan. Cook until golden brown and the inside temperature reads 165° F. Cooks in approximately 8-10 minutes.
We have not personally tried cooking raw, frozen lumpia in the air fryer, so we can not say if this is a good method or how to do it. We can highly recommend using the air fryer for reheating cooked lumpia.
